KPE
Formed on April 18, 2006, KKR Private Equity Investors, L.P. ("KPE") is a Guernsey limited partnership that seeks to create long-term value by participating in private equity and opportunistic investments identified by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. ("KKR"). KPE's private equity investments consist of limited partner interests in KKR's private equity funds, co-investments in certain portfolio companies of KKR's private equity funds, and negotiated equity investments. KPE also makes other investments opportunistically that KKR identifies in the course of its business. KPE makes its investments through another Guernsey limited partnership, KKR PEI Investments, L.P. (the "Investment Partnership").
Our investment approach has three fundamental strengths:
- the ability to participate in a broad range of KKR's private equity investments. These private equity investments include the right to subscribe for limited partner interests in KKR's private equity funds and the opportunity to co-invest in certain portfolio companies of those funds and to make negotiated investments in equity or equity-linked securities;
- the flexibility to make opportunistic investments identified by KKR in the course of its business, which may have the potential to generate attractive returns; and
- the active involvement of KKR investment professionals, who also have an equity stake in KPE.
Holders of KPE's common units or restricted depositary units should note that they are subject to a number of ownership and transfer restrictions. Please see "Ownership and Transfer Restrictions" on our Investor Relations page.
